Sheffield Eagles Women were established in 2022 and entered the RFL Women’s League One in their inaugural season. The team quickly made their mark, finishing top of the league and secured promotion to the RFL Women’s Championship after winning the Grand Final.
In 2024, the Eagles built on this success by finishing second in the Championship, progressing to the Grand Final where we were beaten by Leigh Leopards. That year also saw the introduction of a second Women’s team, providing a dedicated development pathway for players aspiring to compete at a higher level.
In summer 2024, the Eagles Foundation launched RugBees, a free community rugby league programme for girls aged 7–11, designed to inspire and nurture the next generation of female players, before the club introduced an Under-16s Girls Pathway in 2025, working to embed Women’s rugby league within Sheffield’s universities, further strengthening the sport’s presence in the city.
