Sheffield Eagles Women launched in 2022, competing in the RFL Women’s League One.
They quickly established themselves as a dominant force, topping the league and winning the Grand Final to gain promotion the the RFL Women’s Championship.
In 2024, they reached the Championship Grand Final after finishing 2nd in the league.
The Eagles also ran a second Women’s team for the first time in 2024, offering a development pathway for those aspiring to play at a higher level. In Summer 2024, the Eagles Foundation launched RugBees - a free community rugby programme aimed at girls aged 7 - 11 - to begin inspiring the next generation of female rugby league players.
2025 will see the Eagles launch an U16s Girls Pathway and establish Women’s rugby league in the city’s universities.
