Wheelchair squads named for respective weekend fixtures
25/07/2024
Sheffield Eagles will be aiming to keep up their top of the table form on Saturday in the Wheelchair Championship East as they head to Wakefield Trinity looking for a repeat of June’s 58-6 win. Trinity are still looking to get their first win of the year and sit at the opposite end of the table.
The game kicks off at 12pm at The Kings School in Pontefract.
Eagles Head Coach Greg Brown will be without the Brooks trio of April, Vicky, and Will due to holidays, but welcomes David Butler back into the side who missed the last outing against York due to work commitments, whilst he also calls Jack Johnson and Shaun Orton up from the Gold team to provide cover.
Meanwhile the Gold side are in action on Sunday (10.15am) at the English Institute Of Sport as they welcome Colostomy UK to Sheffield, as part of the group’s big day out which also sees them playing PDRL, Touch and Walking Touch ahead of the Men’s game vs Whitehaven.
Andy Clare will make his Gold Team debut in the friendly, in a game which will see the Eagles field a second full side of the weekend, where entry is free and spectators are welcome to attend before entering Olympic Legacy Park.
