Wheelchair squad named for Challenge Cup Quarter Final clash against Edinburgh

Our Wheelchair team will take on Edinburgh Giants on Saturday, 10th May, at Ponds Forge, as they look to book a place in the Semi Finals of the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup (2pm KO).
After seeing off Warrington Wolves in the last round 146-20, Greg Brown’s side will take on the Scottish side looking to secure a home Semi Final tie against Halifax Panthers.
Edinburgh, a squad full of Scotland internationals, have previous experience in this stage of the Betfred Wheelchair Challenge Cup, having previously played in last season’s competition after they qualified through the Challenge Trophy.
For the Challenge Cup game, Brown has named a similar squad to the one that featured against Warrington in the last round, with only one change being made to the nine-player squad. Andy Clare comes in to replace James Birchnall.
Kick off for this Betfred Challenge Cup game is 2pm, before our ‘A’ team will take on Batley Bulldogs in a friendly afterwards at 4pm.
Plenty of rotation will take place in the ‘A’ team game between the players who have been selected. Ten players will miss out and have a rest having previously earned a lot of playing time so far this season.
The Eagles played against Batley in a friendly last season, so it’ll be another good test for themselves ahead of their Championship season, and it will give plenty more game time for a number of Eagles Wheelchair players.
