Reiss Butterworth to depart Sheffield Eagles

Sheffield Eagles can confirm that Reiss Butterworth will leave the club following the conclusion of the 2026 Betfred Championship season.

The hooker joined the Eagles from Hull Kingston Rovers ahead of the 2025 season and has made 44 appearances for the club across the past two campaigns.

Butterworth has featured 20 times for Sheffield this season, scoring one try in the Eagles’ victory over former club Dewsbury Rams earlier in the campaign.

The 2026 season will bring Reiss’ time with the Eagles to a close, with the 27-year-old now set to pursue a new playing opportunity for the 2027 season.
