Matty Marsh signs new two-year deal
25/09/2025
Sheffield Eagles are thrilled to confirm that full-back Matty Marsh has committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal.
The former York Knights man first joined the Eagles ahead of the 2024 season and has since become a key figure in the squad, crossing for 21 tries in 38 appearances.
Marsh enjoyed a standout debut campaign, scoring 19 tries to finish as joint-top scorer alongside Matty Dawson-Jones. Despite an injury-hit 2025 season that limited him to just nine outings, the 30-year-old returned strongly as he reclaimed his spot in the starting line-up for the final four fixtures in the Betfred Championship.
He wasted no time making an impact on his comeback, grabbing a brace in the Eagles’ emphatic 46-6 win at Hunslet earlier this month.
Marsh’s extension continues the club’s strong retention drive for 2026, joining teammates Jack Bussey, Masi Matongo, Ryan Millar, and Blake Broadbent in committing their futures to Sheffield.
Contracted Squad for 2026: Matty Marsh, Jayden Billy, Billy Walkley, Ryan Millar, Jack Mallinson, Martyn Reilly, Tyler Dickinson, Masi Matongo, Blake Broadbent, Reiss Butterworth, Corey Johnson, Alex Foster, Nick Staveley, Connor Bower, Jack Bussey
