Match Preview | Warrington Wolves (A)

05/02/2026

The Eagles face a trip to The Halliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow evening to face Warrington Wolves in the Betfred Challenge Cup 3rd Round (7:30pm KO).

After starting the new season strongly with three wins from three games in all competitions, Craig Lingard’s side head to Cheshire looking to pull off a shock in the Challenge Cup as they come up against Betfred Super League opposition.

Last week’s 18-6 victory over Whitehaven saw the Eagles book their place into the next round as tries from Joe Brown, Joel Farrell and Conor Fitzsimmons saw us come from behind to beat the Cumbrians.

The hosts, Warrington, will take on the Eagles on Friday in their first competitive outing in 2026. After pre-season victories against Widnes Vikings and Leigh Leopards in recent weeks, Sam Burgess’ side will take on the Eagles this Friday as they continue to prepare for the start of the new Super League season, which starts next week against St Helens.

Read below for all the key information you need to know ahead of Friday’s trip to The Halliwell Jones Stadium to face Warrington Wolves.

THE HALLIWELL JONES STADIUM

The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Mike Gregory Way, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 7NE

The Halliwell Jones Stadium, home to Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club since it was built in 2003, is Warrington's largest and leading conference and events venue, staging important games in the rugby league world such as the European Nations Final.

Boasting impressive and up to date facilities, a diverse range of multi-function pitch-facing suites and executive boxes and inspired menus, Halliwell Jones Conference and Events will provide you with a first-class event experience.

At its inception, the stadium bucked the trend of modern stadiums and introduced terraced areas rather than being an all-seater stadium. The official capacity of the newly renovated stadium is 15,000, with record breaking crowds achieved during the 2013 Rugby League World cup, where The Halliwell Jones Stadium hosted two fixtures.
