Sheffield Eagles are back on the road on Sunday afternoon when we face Midlands Hurricanes in the AB Sundecks 1895 Group Stage.
Mark Aston’s side head down to Birmingham knowing victory against this weekend’s League One opponents will secure our place in the hat for the Quarter Finals of the competition.
We currently sit joint-top of Group 7 alongside Doncaster on points having beaten them two weeks ago at the Eco-Power Stadium.
The Eagles have made an impressive start to the 2024 having put together a run of three successive victories against Hull KR, Doncaster, and Newcastle Thunder respectively, and the aim this weekend will be to extend that further.
Awaiting the Eagles this weekend is a Midlands Hurricanes side who were narrowly beaten last weekend in the 3rd Round of the Betfred Challenge Cup by Rochdale Hornets.
They currently sit bottom of Group 7 in the 1895 Cup, having been beaten 4-40 by Doncaster at the end of January.
Mark Dunning’s side will be hoping to go well in Betfred League One this season, having been boosted with the additions of Ross Oakes, Callum McLelland and Jason Bass during the off-season.
