Match Preview | Featherstone visit the Eagles this Sunday for a double header!
27/08/2025
It’s a third and final Rugby League double header at the Steel City Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Featherstone Rovers are our opponents for both fixtures this Sunday, and our Women’s Red team take on the Rovers in their tenth and final league game of the Championship season in the first game of the day in South Yorkshire (12:30pm KO).
Victory for the visitors could see them finish the regular league season top of the Championship, but they would require Hull FC to beat London Broncos, for that to at least happen.
Andrea Dobson MBE and Louis Townsend’s Women’s team go in search of their fourth win of the season, and they know that if they do that this Sunday, that they will finish the regular season in 7th place.
Our second game of the day will see our Men’s team also take on Featherstone Rovers, in Round 24 of the Betfred Championship (3pm KO).
Craig Lingard’s side will be hoping to put an end to a nine-match winless run, and they head into Sunday’s game after their recent fixture on Friday evening against Bradford Bulls.
Featherstone Rovers currently sit 5th in the league table, but after a defeat on Saturday evening to Widnes Vikings, it has closed the gap between themselves and several teams who are looking to finish the season in the playoff spots.
Please see below all the information you need to know ahead of Sunday’s double header.
