Sheffield Eagles will look to book their place in the 6th Round of the Betfred Challenge Cup this weekend when we travel to Swinton Lions on Saturday afternoon.
Kicking off at 12:30pm, Mark Aston’s side travel to Manchester this weekend knowing victory will see us enter Monday evening’s draw for the next round of the competition, where we could potentially be drawn against one of the sides from Super League as they enter the competition.
Saturday lunchtime’s kick off will be streamed live on the BBCiPlayer, BBC Sport Website and the BBC Red Button.
Six successive victories this season for the Eagles has made it a promising start to the 2024 season, and another victory for Aston’s men this weekende will head us in good stead ahead of the Betfred Championship season opener against Toulouse Olympique next Friday evening.
Standing in our way is a Swinton Lions side, who have already seen off West Hull ARLFC and Oldham in the competition this season.
After going four games unbeaten in all competitions, that run came to an end with a 21-12 defeat at Bradford Bulls last weekend in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Quarter Final.

The results have been fairly shared between the two sides over recent years. The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 30-22 victory for Swinton last July at Heywood Road. Earlier in the season, Sheffield Eagles ran out as 16-6 winners in April at Olympic Legacy Park.
