Match Preview | Barrow Raiders away this Sunday!

16/07/2024

Sheffield Eagles are back on the road this Sunday as we face a trip to Cumbria to take on Barrow Raiders (3pm KO).

The Eagles will be looking to bounce back to winning ways following a 22-34 defeat at home to Swinton Lions last weekend.

Mark Aston’s men have already faced the Raiders once this season, which resulted in a 54-0 victory for the Eagles back in April’s reverse league fixture at Olympic Legacy Park.

Barrow will also look to return to winning ways themselves having been beaten 22-2 on the road last Sunday at Batley Bulldogs.

The Northern Competitions Stadium offers seated accommodation in the Main Stand and covered standing on the Clive Street (popular side) terrace. There is uncovered standing at either end of the ground on the Willie Horne Way terrace and the Hindpool Road terrace.

Turnstiles, the Raiders Bar and refreshment facilities generally open 2 hours before kick off unless otherwise stated.

Sadly, there is no parking available at the ground, but street parking is available in the local surrounding area.

Head-to-Head

The Eagles have been victorious in our last three meetings against Barrow. Having beaten our Cumbrian opponents earlier this season, we also secured wins home and away last season, securing a 16-36 victory on the road in February, before following that up with a 36-18 win in July last year.

Barrow’s last win against the Eagles came as a 32-36 win at Olympic Legacy Park back in July 2022.
