Knowles to remain an Eagle in 2021

08/09/2020

Brad Knowles becomes the latest player to stay put with the Eagles, after signing a one-year extension.

Since moving from Featherstone ahead of the 2019 season, the front-rower has been an almost ever-present in the Eagles pack.

Now very much a fans favourite, Knowles will be eager to play a pivotal role in the Eagles’ 2021 campaign.

Knowles’ re-signing comes as good news to Eagles Director of Rugby Mark Aston, who said: “The message I am putting out on all our re-signings is that they’re all great kids and they want to improve and impress.

“Brad is hard as nails and I still believe there’s more to come. His attitude towards the club and being the best, he can be is second to none.

“He plays hard, hits hard and those are the sort of people I love within the squad.”

Knowles said: “I am happy to be staying with the Eagles,”

“We made some memories at Wembley and we were looking to carry that on into 2020 but obviously we haven’t been able to do that.

“It’s sad to see some of the lads leaving but we’ll be getting some new ones in so it’ll be good to see how we all bond and hopefully start like we did in 2019.”

The return of Championship rugby league can’t come quick enough for the prop, who will be happy to link up with long-term absentees James Glover and Matt James once again.

“Everyone will be raring to get back in and we have a few lads coming back from injury,” he added.

“Glover is a handful and one of the best centres in the league on his day and Jamesy (Matt James) will be a handful too with his offload.

“The young kids will have another year under their belt too so that will benefit us in the long-run.”
