Josh Hodson signs on loan from Castleford Tigers

Sheffield Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of Castleford Tigers centre Josh Hodson on an initial two-week loan deal.

Hodson, 24, joined Betfred Super League side Castleford ahead of the 2024 season after an impressive spell with fellow Championship side Batley Bulldogs, where he scored 24 tries in 54 appearances across two seasons.

During his time at Batley, he played a key role under Craig Lingard, helping the team reach both the Championship Grand Final and the 1895 Cup Final at Wembley in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Although currently on Castleford’s books, Hodson has already featured in the Championship this year. He made two appearances on loan at Widnes Vikings, playing in their recent defeat to York Knights and their victory away at Hunslet.

The centre will go straight into contention for selection this weekend as Sheffield travel to Cumbria to face Barrow Raiders in Round 13 of the Betfred Championship.
