Jimmy Beckett joins Sheffield Eagles on loan

Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce the signing of forward Jimmy Beckett on a one-month loan deal from Castleford Tigers.

The 26-year-old joined Castleford ahead of the start of the season and he has gone on to appear three times so far this year in the Betfred Super League, featuring against Toulouse Olympique, Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls.

Beckett arrives at the Eagles after a recent loan spell with fellow Championship side Goole Vikings, where he played in their 32–14 home defeat to Newcastle Thunder on Good Friday.

Prior to joining the Tigers, he spent the 2025 season with Featherstone Rovers, helping the club reach both the Championship play-offs and the 1895 Cup Final.

He has also previously featured for Keighley Cougars, Oldham RLFC and Dewsbury Rams, and he goes straight into Craig Lingard’s squad for this Saturday’s trip to London Broncos (6pm KO).
