I really enjoy my music and films so this has been really tough for me and if you asked me again in 3-4 months it’s likely to change slightly. But as we stand today my top 3 films in no particular order. 

Films

Any Given Sunday: Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J take lead roles in this gridiron drama. An unknown quarterback is blasted into the limelight and Pacino is the under pressure coach trying to manage the star alongside keeping the board of directors off his back. Featuring that motivational speech delivered by Pacino. 

Leon: Jean Reon, Gary Oldham and Natalie Portman. A hitman takes in a young child in unfortunate circumstances and they build a strong connection. But a happily ever after is far from complete with Oldham the crooked cop on the scene. 

Friday: Somewhat or a classic staring Ice cube and Chris Tucker to name a few. This urban comedy plots Cube and Tucker dealing with a turbulent day of issues on a Friday. Slightly gritty comedy with a message. 

Honourable mentions for Scarface, The Dark Knight, American Gangster and Joker and The Dark Knight Rises. 

TV

The Wire: Gritty hard hitting drama about the battle between law enforcement and criminals set in Baltimore. A young Idris Elba stars alongside Dominic West, Micheal K. Williams in what is argued one of the best series to have graced our television 

Top Boy: Drama based in South London featuring Ashley Walters and Kano. Not one for the feint hearted the drama sees the two trying to make strides in the underworld of London. 

Fresh Prince of Bel Air: Will Smith is the cool kid sent to live with his uncle in the suburbs. Light hearted and part of my youth, a very easy and light watch in comparison with my other two picks. 

Honourable mentions. Footballers Wives, Bad Girls, Lost, GOT, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos.
