Guzdek to join Bass at Skolars

Sheffield Eagles full-back Josh Guzdek has signed for League 1 club London Skolars on a two-week loan deal.

Guzdek joins winger Jason Bass at the Skolars as they prepare to face table-toppers Dewsbury Rams on Sunday.

Skolars currently sit bottom of the League 1 table but have put in some promising performances in recent weeks - putting 30 points past Doncaster and losing by four points to Rochdale Hornets.

Lewis Peachey and Ryan Johnson have also enjoyed spells with League 1 clubs recently, playing for Rochdale Hornets and Midlands Hurricanes respectively.

Director of Rugby Mark Aston commented: “Both Jason and Josh need game time and we know they’ll hit the ground running in their spells with the Skolars,”

“We need everyone available at every stage of the season so knowing these guys will be match fit and ready to go is massive for us.

“We’ve been impressed with Lewis Peachey during his time at Rochdale and young Ryan Johnson has had game time with Midlands too.”
