Eagles Women face Swinton Lionesses in top of table clash

22/07/2022

The Eagles Women will face Swinton at home at the Olympic Legacy Park, Sheffield.

Kicking off at 12.30pm on Sunday the 24th of July.

In what will be their second double header with the Eagles men, the women will kick off a big day of rugby for the Eagles. Having previously lost to the Lionesses in a close game back in May, the Eagles will be looking to prove themselves while on home turf and hopefully secure a spot at the top of the table.

Ahead of the game, team captain Pete Lendon comments:

“Swinton are set to be the toughest challenge for us this season. We lost to them away in our second game as a team, but now with plenty of experience under our belts, we are looking to show them what the Eagles are truly made of.”

“The OLP will be a great arena for this battle and we encourage all the Eagles fans to come down early for what is set to be a big game”

“If we keep our heads, put everything the coaching team has been drilling into us into practice and play as the team we are, we can give them a good run for it.”

“A win will see us tied first with Swinton, with the battle for promotion to the Championship coming down to points difference”
