Sheffield Eagles are proud to unveil their 2021 Alternative / Third Kit for 2021.
The kit design, which is inspired by the brand and values of the Rugby League World Cup 2021, will be worn at various points throughout the Betfred Championship campaign.
RLWC2021 Ambassador and England Wheelchair star James Simpson joined Eagles Captain Matt James and Ryan Millar, along with the RLWC Wheelchair Trophy, at Bramall Lane to unveil the new kit.
Bramall Lane will play host to England vs Greece in the Rugby League World Cup later this year while a number of Wheelchair games, including the semi-finals, will take place in the Steel City at the English Institute of Sport.
The Eagles, through its charitable arm, will be looking to launch a Wheelchair side next year and proceeds from the sale of the third kit will go towards helping fund development in the city.
All the Eagles’ current partners are proudly displayed on the kit, with our Major Partner GRI Group Ltd continuing in the main, front of shirt, position.
Chairman & CEO of GRI Group Ltd Graham Royle said: “GRI Group has been the Eagles’ main sponsor for several years and we are absolutely delighted to continue to be so,”
“The last 15 months have been very difficult for all sports due to Covid and we are looking forward to seeing the Eagles back on the pitch, once again bringing enjoyment to the fans and silverware to the club!”
RLWC2021 Ambassador and England Wheelchair star, James Simpson, said: “As well as being an awesome design, the kit has a much greater meaning - harnessing the power of the RLWC and celebrating the impactful legacy the tournament will deliver,”
“I am really excited about the future of Wheelchair Rugby League in Sheffield and pleased this kit will contribute to the development of the sport.”
Commenting on the kit, Eagles General Manager Liam Claffey added: “We’d like to thank GRI Group Ltd and all our partners for their support again this year, along with RLWC2021 for their support with this unique kit,”
“We hope Eagles supporters snap up this shirt as proceeds will go directly to help funding a Wheelchair side as well as the Foundation, who are doing great work behind the scenes to ensure a lasting legacy in the city following the World Cup and helping redevelop the game in Sheffield.
