Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce the return of popular centre James Glover from York Knights on a loan deal until the end of the season.

As part of the transfer, Eagles winger Jason Bass will return to his former club - also on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The respective loans have a no-callback clause within them and both Glover and Bass can play against their parent teams. 

Glover was an integral part of the Eagles’ resurgence back towards playoff contention in 2019, up until an awful knee injury at the Summer Bash sidelined him for nine months.

The ex-Dewsbury man notched 15 tries in 32 appearances before departing for the LNER Community Stadium at the end of the 2021 season.

Glover will wear number 33.

Discussing the swap, Director of Rugby Mark Aston commented: “We’re thrilled to be bringing James back,”

“He’s a character to say the least and will fit in well with what we’ve got going on here at the OLP.

“He has bundles of talent and was on course for a superb season in 2019 before injury struck.

“It’s also a good move for Jason, who has impressed with Midlands and now gets to be back in the Championship with a club he knows well.”
