Eagles Look To Repel Dragons Invasion

01/04/2022

Dundee Dragons will make the mammoth 650-mile round trip to face Sheffield Eagles in the Wheelchair Rugby League Championship North on Saturday 2nd April, 2pm Kick Off at Forge Valley Sports Centre.

The Dragons have five players available, four of whom are capped Scotland internationals, and will be seeking a reward for their long trip by adding a second win to their tally for the season.

The Eagles will be motivated by their strong showing in last week’s improved performance against Rochdale. They have a full side to field, with Stephen Scott (illness) and Chris Haynes (injury) the only players missing who have featured already this year.

This still gives Head Coach Greg Brown a headache in terms of working out his team combinations and giving his players game time.

“Having a large squad has lots of benefits and in time as players develop and improve it will be a huge advantage for us,” explained Greg.

“But it does mean I have to give a lot of thought to interchanges and ensuring that everyone gets the opportunity to stake their claim on a shirt.

“We don’t know very much about Dundee, but we know it will be another good test for our side and we’ll be aiming to start strongly and defend strongly like we did last week and maintain the intensity throughout the 80 minutes.”

Spectators are welcome at the game, but are advised that capacity is limited.

Sheffield Eagles: Vicky Brooks, Will Brooks, David Butler, Lottie Davis-Browne, Jack Johnson, Shaun Orton, Stephen Palin-Campbell, Emma Pearson, Jenny Pearson, Stacey Roulson.

Dundee Dragons: Siggy Ahmed, Jay Anderson, David Birtles, Graeme Stewart and Cadyn Thomson.
