The Eagles Foundation receive £16,694.71 from CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme

The grant, which has been awarded to help more people play Rugby League at grassroots level in Sheffield will fund the foundation’s new Wheelchair Rugby League activity.
The Eagles Foundation is set to receive £16,694.71 from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme. Delivered in partnership between RLWC2021, the sport’s national governing body, the Rugby Football League, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, the CreatedBy programme is a funding pot of up to £10million made available by the government to support the legacy of the Rugby League World Cup by growing participation in the sport.
The funding will be used to purchase 8 sports wheelchairs, balls, tags and cones for training and will contribute towards the cost of purchasing goalposts and post protectors bespoke for Wheelchair Rugby League.
Wheelchair Rugby League activity in Sheffield will kick off on Monday 28th June, 6.30pm at the Sheffield Hallam University’s Pearson Sports Building, Broomgrove Road, S10 2BP and will continue in a weekly session taking place each Monday will take place at the Sheffield Hallam University’s Pearson Sports Building, Broomgrove Road, S10 2BP between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
The activity will be formally launched at tomorrow’s England v Wales Wheelchair Rugby League International at the English Institute Of Sport Sheffield which kicks off at 12.30pm.

The Rugby League World Cup 2021 will kick off on 23 October 2021, with the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions taking place simultaneously, under one tournament banner for the first time.
