It’s the Eagles second pre-season match ahead of the 2020 campaign after our South Yorkshire Cup clash with Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday 19 January (2pm).

It will be the first time Mark Aston’s has faced the Cougars since March 2014 when they overcame Keighley 42-14. The last time the two sides went head-to-head was later that year when Keighley got revenge at Owlerton stadium with a 29-16 victory.

The game will also see former Eagles Kieran Moran, Louis Sheriff and Dan Hawksworth face their former employers with former Cougars pair Josh Guzdek and James Davey in the Sheffield ranks.

Sheffield Eagles General Manager Liam Claffey said: “We’re delighted to be heading back to Cougar Park as the final piece in our pre-season jigsaw ahead of the 2020 season.

“The upcoming campaign will be tough, there has been some fantastic recruitment right across the division so will help Mark & his team prepare as we look to make our way into the top 5 play-offs and defend the 1895 Cup.

“We’d like to thank Keighley for their support and assistance in helping arrange this fixture and we hope to see the Eagles faithful in force for our final fixture"
