Eagles congratulate Uri Rennie on Chancellor appointment at Sheffield Hallam University

We would like to congratulate lifelong supporter of Sheffield Eagles, Uri Rennie, on his recent appointment to become the new Chancellor at Sheffield Hallam University.

Since starting to watch the club back in our early days at the Owlerton Stadium, Uri has been a very influential character in helping with the progression of the club in the community over a number of decades, and his passion aligns with the Eagles in believing sport has become inclusive for everyone.

He has been a long-term supporter of inclusive sport in South Yorkshire, and off the back of the recent 2021 Rugby League World Cup in the UK, he has helped the Eagles create a lasting legacy within the sport which has created playing and social opportunities for everyone.

Our growth as a club has seen us create two Women’s Teams, two Wheelchair sides, an LDRL and PDRL side, as well as community programmes such as Walking Rugby and Mental Health workshops. These are just some of the great achievements that the Eagles Foundation have achieved in the last three years, something which we and Uri are jointly proud to have achieved in such a short space of time.

Once again, we’d like to congratulate Uri on this great achievement, and we look forward to welcoming Uri and the Hallam family to some of our home games down at Olympic Legacy Park in 2025.
