Connor Bower to Depart Sheffield Eagles

Sheffield Eagles can confirm that Connor Bower will depart the club following the conclusion of the 2026 Betfred Championship season.

The second-row forward has made 108 appearances for the Eagles across seven seasons since joining the club from Doncaster ahead of the 2020 campaign.

The former Hull FC, York, Hemel and Doncaster man made five appearances in his first season in Sheffield, before scoring his first try for the club in 2022 during a 44-18 defeat to Featherstone Rovers.

After making ten appearances in 2023, Connor doubled that tally in 2024, playing an important role in the Eagles’ run to the 1895 Cup Final, where Sheffield faced Wakefield Trinity at Wembley Stadium.

Ahead of the 2026 season, Connor was named as part of Craig Lingard’s leadership group, reflecting the experience and professionalism he brought to the squad.

He has gone on to enjoy his best season in an Eagles shirt this year, making 25 appearances, scoring eight tries and kicking seven goals, which saw him secure the Supporters' Player of the Year award at Friday night's Presentation Evening.

A consistent and hard-working member of the squad this year, Connor has made a valuable contribution to the Eagles during his time at the club, both on and off the field.

Connor will now pursue a new playing opportunity for the 2027 season.
