Alex Foster Signs New Deal for 2027
30/10/2026
Sheffield Eagles can confirm that Alex Foster has signed a new deal with the club, keeping him at the Eagles for the 2027 season.
The experienced forward will now head into his fourth season with the club, having joined ahead of the 2024 campaign. Since then, Foster has made 59 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 13 tries.
Foster enjoyed his best season in an Eagles shirt in 2026, scoring six tries in 19 appearances as he continued to play a regular role in the side.
The new deal will also see Foster link up once again with Ryan Sheridan, who was assistant coach at Castleford Tigers during Foster’s spell at the club. The pair were part of the Castleford side that won the Super League Leaders’ Shield and reached the Grand Final at Old Trafford in 2017.
Speaking on retaining Foster for the 2027 season, head coach Ryan Sheridan said, “I’m excited that Alex has signed a new contract with the Eagles, he’s a player I’ve worked with before and I know the quality person and player that he is.
“I can’t wait to see Alex at his best for the Eagles, competing driving standards, being that player that everyone wants to play alongside, representing his teammates and the club with pride and passion, I’m looking forward to a big season from him.”
Foster becomes the 20th player to be under contract for the 2027 season as the Eagles continue to build their squad ahead of the new campaign.
