Will Oakes signs new one-year deal with Sheffield Eagles!

Sheffield Eagles are thrilled to confirm that Will Oakes has extended his stay at the club, signing a new one-year deal ahead of the 2026 campaign.

Oakes joined the Eagles late on in the 2025 campaign after impressing during a trial period and he quickly earned his place in Craig Lingard’s squad. He made his debut off the bench in our home defeat to Bradford, before being handed a starting role at centre in the final three games of the season and came up with his first try in Sheffield colours as he scored in our 46-6 win at Hunslet last month.

Before arriving at Sheffield, Oakes enjoyed spells with Hull KR, York, and Bradford, gaining valuable experience in both the Betfred Super League and Betfred Championship, and he’ll look to use that within the Eagles’ playing group next season as he commits for the 2026 campaign.
