Wheelchair Squads announced for tomorrow's 4's Event!
04/04/2025
The Wheelchair Rugby League season gets underway this weekend with the Annual RFL 4s Festival which takes place at the National Performance Basketball Centre in Manchester.
The action takes place on Saturday 5th April, with Championship and Merit sides (including two entries from Sheffield Eagles) whilst the Super League sides will clash in the afternoon, with the Eagles also entering two further sides.
Played on slightly smaller pitches, with just four players rather than the usual five, the event gives all teams the chance to come together at the start of the season and play in non-competitive games, allowing all teams to dust off the cobwebs and celebrate the wheelchair game.
In the morning competition, the Eagles Championship Red team will take on Bradford Bulls at 10.30am, followed by games against Woodlands Warriors, Hereford Harriers, Edinburgh Giants, and then face Bradford Bulls and Hereford Harriers for a second time, with the final game at 1.30pm.
Meanwhile the Eagles Championship Gold team will start their day at 10am against Halifax Panthers before facing Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos, York Knights, and with further fixtures against Halifax Panthers and Leeds Rhinos, with their last round also kicking off at 1.30pm.
The Super League competition sees Eagles Super League Reds start at 1.45pm against Edinburgh Giants, whilst the Eagles Super League Gold side will first face Leeds Rhinos at 2pm.
Both sides will play each of the Super League sides, giving them six games in total, with the other teams being London Roosters, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Halifax Panthers with both teams playing their final games at 3.45pm.
A total of 24 Eagles players will be involved, with Head Coach Greg Brown only missing Chris Brown, David Butler, Martin Lane and Ben Simpson from the proceedings.
