Wheelchair squad named for Edinburgh clash this Saturday!
28/08/2025
Following the removal of Leeds Rhinos from the play-offs in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League, our Wheelchair team will now compete in an additional round-robin set of fixtures across the final three rounds of the competition, facing Leeds and the Edinburgh Giants in the coming weeks.
The Eagles’ first fixture will take place against the Edinburgh Giants this Saturday at the National Performance Basketball Centre in Manchester (kick-off 12:00pm). The team will then travel to Nottingham next week to meet Leeds Rhinos.
This presents an opportunity for the Eagles to avenge their 28–50 defeat to the Giants in Round 7, a result delivered little more than a week ago which saw the Giants overtake the Eagles into 6th place in the regular league table.
The Giants have relied heavily on experienced players based outside Scotland since the Eagles overcame them 78–44 in the Challenge Cup Semi Final earlier this year in May.
Head Coach Greg Brown has named an 11-player squad for Saturday’s encounter.
The fixture could also see Super League debuts for Vicky Brooks and Andy Clare, who are both in contention for selection.
