Wheelchair Preview for Bradford Double-Header

06/09/2024

Sheffield Eagles Wheelchair Rugby League teams face Bradford Bulls on Sunday in a double-header game at the English Institute of Sport, with the action starting at 10am.

First up is Championship East game, which will see the Eagles first team aiming for 7th consecutive league win. The Eagles triumphed 4-72 away at Bradford earlier in the year and have been running hot in their last few games. A win for the Eagles all-but-secures the league leaders title, a fantastic turnaround for the team, who in 2022 lost every single game they played.

Head Coach Greg Brown has a full complement of red team players available and will be able to give all of his players game time as the focus begins to shift towards the play-offs.

In the 12pm kick off slot, the gold team will face Bradford’s A team in a friendly, which will see a further ten players take to the pitch. With gold team performances improving regularly, the squad will be looking to put in a strong performance, with several of the gold side having played in the red team and continuing to push for selection.

Entry to the EIS is free, with plenty of spectator seating available, giving fans the opportunity to take in the Wheelchair games before heading to the OLP for the Sheffield Eagles v Bradford Bulls game which kicks off at 3pm.
