Wheelchair double header at EIS
16/06/2023
Eagles return to competitive action on Saturday 17th June with a game in both the Championship and the North Division of the Betfred Wheelchair Rugby League
Both games take place at the EIS in the Basketball Arena with around 200 spectator seats available as part of a wider “Move More” event at the EIS focussed on sporting opportunities for people with physical and learning disabilities. Entry is free!
In the Championship, the Eagles will be hoping to record their second win over the Hornets following victory in the recent Peacock Cup and to hold on to their fourth place and a play-off spot to put some distance between themselves and Rochdale who sit in 5th spot, but trail by two points.
Stephen Reilly comes back into the side having missed the away loss to Bradford with a shoulder injury and Ben Simpson returns to the team having been unavailable due to exams.
In the North Division game, Jenny Pearson returns to competitive action after making her first appearance at the Peacock Cup, whilst youngster Christopher Brown also comes into contention for a competitive game since his try-scoring appearance away in Dundee last year.
The game will be the second of the competition, with the Eagles A team looking to overturn their season opening game away at North Wales Crusaders.
