Vila Halafihi announces retirement from Rugby League
04/11/2024
Vila Halafihi has announced his retirement from Rugby League following the conclusion of the 2024 Betfred Championship season.
A product of the Leeds Rhinos Academy, the former Bradford Bulls and Hunslet man joined the Eagles ahead of the 2022 campaign, and he has gone on to become a regular feature in the side over the last three seasons.
30 appearances alone this season saw him appear in some of the club’s biggest games of 2024, including our defeat against Wakefield Trinity in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
Halafihi’s spell with the Eagles ends after he's gone on to make 83 appearances and score 13 tries for the club.
We’d like to thank Vila for his services to Sheffield Eagles, and we’d like to wish him all the best with his future endeavours.
