Tyler Dickinson & Nick Staveley leave Sheffield Eagles

01/10/2025

Following his request, Sheffield Eagles can confirm that Tyler Dickinson has been released from his contract with immediate effect.

Dickinson joined the club ahead of the 2021 campaign and the former Batley Bulldogs and Huddersfield Giants man became a key figure in the Eagles’ forward pack over the course of the last five seasons. Tyler made a total of 15 appearances for the Eagles during the 2025 season, with his last game for the club coming in our 48-8 defeat against York Knights on Sunday 1st June.

The club can also confirm that forward Nick Staveley has also departed the Eagles by mutual consent.

Staveley arrived at the club last year following a trial period with Betfred Super League side Castleford Tigers. A former Hull FC player, he gained valuable experience during a loan spell with Betfred League One outfit Goole Vikings, where he featured in five matches towards the end of the 2025 season.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Tyler and Nick for their efforts during their time with the club, and we’d like to wish them every success with their future endeavours.
