Three Lions Week in Sheffield

Building up to the start of the Rugby League World Cup, the Eagles Foundation will host a ‘Three Lions Week’ from Monday 10th October to Thursday 13th October.
Primarily focused on the junior aspect of the sport, there will be multiple Tag Festivals at primary and secondary schools across the city.
As well as this, Sheffield Eagles’ own Wheelchair, Women and Girls teams will be hosting recruitment sessions as the club looks to unearth some diamonds for the 2023 season.
Speaking about the impact these events can have for rugby league in the Steel City, Eagles Foundation Chair David Butler said: “After the Foundation’s success at the RFL Awards, backed up by the Women’s team at Odsal on Sunday, it’s the perfect time to be hosting Three Lions Week,”
“We have seen the progress made by all of our teams this year, which has created a brilliant atmosphere around the club.
“Our first ever Wheelchair team debuted in 2022, our LDRL side have been delighting fans at the OLP, and it’s been great to see kids being able to have conversations with the Men’s team after a game - a connection that was missing during our time outside of the city.
“This week is all about growing the club, and sport, in the city. We want all Sheffield kids to know about rugby league and hopefully enjoy playing the game.
“They are the next generation and these events, backed by the RFL and World Cup, are vital to continuing the progression of the Eagles, the Foundation and the sport.”
