Sheffield Eagles fixtures for 2022 season

The fixtures for the 2022 Betfred Championship season have now been released with the Eagles’ first home match taking place in round five.
The Eagles’ first four rounds will be away after discussions with Scarborough Group International and the RFL.
The move will allow the scheduled work to the carried out on the Community Stadium at the Olympic Legacy Park prior to any competitive fixtures taking place at the site.
The club can confirm discussions with Scarborough Group International are in their final stages in relation to the licence agreement for the Eagles to play home matches at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park from 2022 onwards.
The club and Scarborough Group International hope to make an exciting announcement with regards to an agreement in the very near future alongside further news and updates relating to the Community Stadium.
Notable fixtures include a Monday night home fixture, live on Premier Sports, against our 1895 Final opponents, Widnes Vikings (May 23), our home season opener vs Workington (06 March) and a home fixture against York City Knights on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday (02 June).
2022 Memberships will be announced and on-sale in the coming days along with confirmed ticket prices.
Speaking of the fixture release, Eagles General Manager Liam Claffey said: “We’d like to thank the RFL for assisting with our request for four away fixtures to start the season,”
“A trip to Cumbria is always tough so to head there for the start of the season will be a hard task.
“We’d also like to thank Scarborough Group International for their support & updates regarding the Community Stadium to date. We are hopefully in the very last stages of reaching an agreement and once we have we will share the news publicly.”
