RFL Launch Community Trust and Week of Social Impact
28/10/2024
On Sunday 27th October, the Brick Community Stadium in Wigan became the epicentre of both thrilling international rugby league and a significant milestone announcement in the sport’s social impact mission.
The RFL showcased a glimpse of the outstanding community work from around the country, highlighting that rugby league is more than just the 80 minutes on the pitch.
At half time of the England Men’s game against Samoa, The RFL proudly launched The RFL Community Trust; a new body that will work collaboratively with the game’s charitable foundations - including the Eagles Foundation - to achieve rugby league’s social impact goals.
This week, the Eagles Foundation are delighted to be taking part of The RFL’s first-ever Week of Social Impact, where we will spotlight their incredible social impact and community work on both Club and Foundation social media channels.
Eagles Foundation Inclusion Officer, Jack Pemberton, said: “It was a pleasure to be invited to Wigan to attend the launch of The RFL Community Trust and the Week of Social Impact. It was fantastic to get a glimpse of some of the fantastic work that goes on around the country using the power of rugby league and the games non-profit organisations.
The Eagles Foundation are delighted to be taking part in the Week of Social Impact, and we’re excited to work alongside The RFL and the new RFL Community Trust to provide opportunity for people in our communities.”
