Betfred Championship EVOGO

PREVIEW | We welcome Hunslet to Dronfield this Sunday!

10/08/2026

The Eagles host Hunslet RLFC this Sunday, 16th August, in our penultimate home game in the regular Betfred Championship season (3pm KO).

Following last Sunday’s narrow defeat at Oldham, Craig Lingard’s side will be looking to bounce back and return to winning ways after our impressive six-match winning run came to an end.

With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Eagles remain in the hunt for a top six finish. However, a challenging run-in awaits, with upcoming fixtures against fellow playoff contenders Doncaster and Widnes Vikings to follow in the coming weeks.

Hunslet head into Sunday’s clash on the back of consecutive victories, having recorded a 32-18 win last time out against Keighley.

The Parksiders currently sit 13th in the Championship table, just four points outside the playoff places, and remain firmly in contention for a top six finish. They will need to win both of their remaining games, including Sunday’s trip to Sheffield, to keep those hopes alive.

The Eagles came out on top when the two sides met earlier this season, securing a 24-16 victory in the Round 5 clash. Tries from Kieran Gill, Connor Bower, Jordan Lilley, Joel Farrell and Corey Johnson helped Sheffield claim the points on that occasion.

Take a look below for everything you need to know ahead of Sunday's clash against Hunslet.
