‘No Limits’ Partner with Eagles Learning Disability Team
15/02/2024
The Eagles Foundation are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with No Limits, an athlete-led disability support service provider, who will become the Principal Partner of the Eagles Learning Disability team.
Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) is an inclusive variant of the game developed to ensure that people with a learning disability can play and enjoy rugby league. The game is open to any individual with a learning disability or associated condition and focusses on developing skills and confidence through non-contact Tag Rugby League games.
No Limits, established by Eagles star Bayley Liu in 2022, utilise professional athletes to support people with learning disabilities to live a life without limits by connecting them to their community and unleashing their potential. Since its foundation, the organisation has expanded to cover Sheffield, as well as Leeds, Wakefield and Kirklees, with Eagles half back Cory Aston co-ordinating support across the Steel City.
With independence, healthy living, and fun at the heart of everything they do, No Limits have both 1-to-1 and group support available for individuals with a range of needs and personal goals. All support is provided by No Limits’ team of athlete support workers, including Eagles off-season signing Alex Foster and Mitch Clark, alongside with other male and female sporting athletes.
The partnership will see No Limits benefit from a range of exposure opportunities across Club and Foundation social media, LDRL promotional material and on game days when the LD team play.
Eagles Foundation Disability Inclusion Officer Jack Pemberton has thanked No Limits for their backing of the LD team, saying: “We’re absolutely delighted to have No Limits on board with the LD team ahead of the 2024 season.
“The Foundation and No Limits have a shared vision on inclusion and providing people with positive experiences, so it’s a perfect partnership for both organisations.
“We’re really looking forward to working with Bayley, Cory and the rest of the No Limits team going forward.”
Bayley Lui, founder of No Limits said “It’s really a dream to be able to get involved with the club, it’s special to work with the club that I play for.
“We work in the community with people with disabilities and I think with the work we do, that it’s really important to have a connection there and try to continue and help as many people as possible.”
“We hope this can be a partnership that will grow and be beneficial for so many people.”
Eagles’ half back Cory Aston, also Director of ‘No Limits’ said “Two things I am really passionate about are Sheffield Eagles and supporting people with learning disabilities. I am really excited to continue to provide our unique services across the City of Sheffield and really help our users reach their goals and hit their full potential.
“I’m grateful for this partnership with club and I thank both Bayley and Clare from the No Limits team for their support in helping me branch this into Sheffield.”
