Match Preview | Final game of season at Dewsbury this Sunday!
26/09/2024
Sheffield Eagles travel to Dewsbury Rams this coming Sunday in our final game of the regular Betfred Championship season (3pm).
We head to recently relegated Dewsbury knowing we’re only eighty minutes away from booking a place in the playoffs, and the Eagles will look to do that as we look to return to winning ways after being defeated by York Knights last time out.
Three playoff spaces are still up for grabs between the Eagles, York Knights, Featherstone Rovers and Widnes Vikings, and whilst we could still finish as high as fourth in the league table, victory will be the main priority on Sunday afternoon.
Please read below for all the key information you need to know ahead of Sunday’s trip to Dewsbury.
THE OPPOSITION
It’s been tough season for Dewsbury Rams since making their return to the second tier following promotion last season from League One.
They’ve managed to only secure the one victory all season, which came as a 24-4 victory against Batley Bulldogs back in Round 2.
Dale Ferguson stepped down from his Head Coach role earlier in the season, as Paul March stepped up to take over the reigns at the FLAIR Stadium.
Last weekend saw Dewsbury head to Featherstone Rovers in their final away game of the season, where they were defeated 50-12 at the Millennium Stadium.
