Match Preview | Featherstone visit the OLP this Sunday
13/06/2024
Sheffield Eagles make a return to Betfred Championship action on Sunday afternoon at Olympic Legacy Park when we take on Featherstone Rovers (3pm).
Mark Aston’s side head into the contest off the back of last weekend’s defeat to Wakefield Trinity in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
It’s the first of two successive home games for the Eagles as we also take on Widnes Vikings in a weeks’ time also at OLP.
Featherstone travel down to South Yorkshire looking to return to winning ways themselves after falling to back-to-back defeats in the league to Barrow and Swinton over recent weeks.

LD Festival
In partnership with our principle Learning Disability partners No Limits Disability Support Services, we’re delighted to be hosting a Learning Disability Festival for the very first time, with teams from across the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League making the trip to Olympic Legacy Park ahead of the Men’s game on Sunday.
The Eagles will welcome over 70 players from teams and disability organisations across Yorkshire, making for a celebration of inclusive rugby league.
Players from Featherstone Rovers, Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and Halifax Panthers, as well teams from partners No Limits and Mencap, will also welcome the Men’s players out onto the pitch before the game as mascots and flag bearers.
The action kicks off from 1:15pm, so be sure to enter the stadium early to see our LDRL stars in action.
Head-to-Head
Featherstone have recorded thirteen successive victories over the Eagles, and they’ll head to South Yorkshire this Sunday looking to extend that run.
Sheffield’s last victory over Featherstone came as a 35-10 victory at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park back in June 2016.
