Masi Matongo signs new deal for 2027
06/10/2026
Masi Matongo has become the latest player to commit his future to Sheffield Eagles, signing a new one-year deal to remain with the club for the 2027 Championship season.
The forward is set to enter his third season with the Eagles after a solid campaign in 2026, making 25 appearances throughout the year.
Matongo also opened his account for the club in March, scoring his first Eagles try in the 44-20 win over Rochdale Hornets.
The new deal means Matongo will continue his time at Sheffield into a third season, with the forward now looking to build on his performances from 2026 and play his part in another Championship campaign.
Following the news yesterday that Will Oakes had agreed a new deal, Matongo becomes the 16th player currently contracted to the Eagles for the 2027 season.
Under Contract Players for 2027: Matty Marsh, Joe Brown, Billy Walkey, Kieran Gill, Josh Hodson, Will Oakes, Jordan Lilley, Jordan Abdull, Conor Fitzsimmons, Martyn Reilly, George Griffin, Masi Matongo, Blake Broadbent, Lewis Peachey, Harry Bowes, Joel Farrell
