Life's a Peach as Lewis signs for Sheffield
20/09/2022
Sheffield Eagles are excited to announce the signing of young forward Lewis Peachey on a three-year deal.
Having been on loan with Newcastle Thunder from Castleford Tigers throughout 2022, the 21-year-old has experience within the second tier and will add further competition for places in the forward pack.
Derbyshire-born Peachey came through the Tigers academy system and can play as a prop or a back-rower, providing Director of Rugby Mark Aston with more utility value.
Speaking about the signing, Aston said: “Lewis is exactly the sort of player and person we want around the club,”
“He’s at the start of his career and is motivated to really push on and make an impact. I believe he will do that with ourselves.
“We have improved as a team and as a club in 2022. With Lewis on board, as well as the others that are going to come in, our goal is to push for the playoffs rather than look over our shoulder.
“We have seen improvements in the pack this year. Lewis can play in the front and back-row so that helps when we want to change things up during a game.
“I’m sure you’ll all join me in welcoming Lewis to the club.”
