Keith Senior & Errol Confirmed to Run! - 10k for 10k Update
19/09/2023
The Council are reminding the city’s residents about road closures on Sunday, which means the Sheffield 10k is upon us and the Eagles Foundation’s 10k for £10k fundraising campaign is hotting up nicely!
The Foundation is aiming to raise £10,000 to support its work, which includes our Learning Disability, Women’s and Wheelchair sides, delivering Touch and Walking Rugby sessions and coaching 1000s of young people in our city’s schools and of course our marvellous Sheffield Eagles Heritage Project.
Two Eagles legends have signed up at the last minute to bolster the campaign to 25 runners, meaning that 250km will be run by those taking part on behalf of the Eagles Foundation for which over £1000 has already been donated.
Former Eagles player and 1998 Challenge Cup Winner, now men’s team assistant coach, Keith Senior will don his running shoes to support the campaign. “The Eagles Foundation has brought a new dimension to the club recently and its been great to see the progress that has been made” he said. “I’m looking forward to the run and supporting the rest of the runners and hopefully raising some important funds to support the Foundation to grow further!”
Meanwhile another Eagles legend will also be taking part. Errol the Eagle, the Eagles mascot, will be slipping is claws into his running shoes to pound the pavement on Sunday to bring some colour and excitement to the event! An Eagle of few words, Errol preferred to remain silent on the run, but Eagles Foundation Trustee David Butler noted “Its an enormous effort by Errol to take on the 10k! The weather looks to be warm and he doesn’t do a lot of running, but I am sure that he’ll get plenty of support from the crowd and will help us to raise the profile of our 10k for £10k campaign!”
