Kadeem Williams departs Eagles

07/11/2022

Sheffield Eagles can announce the departure of back-row forward Kadeem Williams following the expiry of his one-year contract.

Williams returned to the club ahead of the 2022 season and made eight appearances during the campaign, all from the interchange bench.

The Jamaican international had previously been in the Eagles setup via their Academy/Reserves system before it was disbanded in 2016.

A League 1 tour with Coventry, Hemel and Gloucestershire All Golds followed before he made his way back to the Steel City - the highlight being his first team debut against Newcastle Thunder.

Kadeem’s former teammate Greg Burns and coach Lee Bettinson presented him with his playing shirt, which you can see here.

Discussing Kadeem’s exit, Director of Rugby Mark Aston said: “It was great to see Kadeem back in the Red and Gold,”

“When he played, he never let us down and that has always been the case throughout his stints with the club.

“Now is the right time for Kadeem to move on and we wish him all the very best for the future.

“A thoroughly great lad who has been a pleasure to coach.”
