Sheffield Eagles are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our media team for the 2027 season, supporting coverage of our Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair Rugby League teams.
This is a voluntary opportunity for aspiring sports journalists, photographers, videographers and content creators to gain practical experience, develop their skills and build a portfolio within a professional rugby league environment.
Whether you’re currently studying media or journalism, looking to gain industry experience, or taking your first steps into sports media, we want to hear from you.
If you’re passionate about sport, eager to learn and ready to get involved, this could be the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career with Sheffield Eagles.
WHAT COULD YOU BE DOING?
Writing & Journalism - Produce match previews, match reports and feature articles for the club website, with opportunities for your work to be submitted to local newspapers, including The Star and the Sheffield Telegraph.
Digital Content & Social Media - Create engaging content that brings supporters closer to the players, teams and stories that make Sheffield Eagles special.
Media & Communications - Assist with player interviews, team news and matchday coverage across the club.
Videography - Film interviews, training sessions and behind-the-scenes content across our teams, as well as the opportunity to film our Wheelchair Rugby League matches.
Photography - Capture match action, key moments and the atmosphere across our teams. Please note anyone wanting photography experience would have to bring their own equipment.
WHAT DOES THIS OFFER?

- A chance to contribute to the coverage of all three teams and help showcase the breadth of rugby league at Sheffield Eagles.
WHO SHOULD GET IN TOUCH?
We're particularly interested in hearing from students studying journalism, media, photography, film, communications or sports journalism, as well as anyone with a passion for sport and an interest in media.
Previous experience is welcome, but enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn are just as important.
