28/09/2025

Sheffield Eagles are pleased to confirm that club captain Joel Farrell has signed a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club through to the end of the 2028 season.

The former Huddersfield Giants, Dewsbury Rams and Batley Bulldogs player will enter his eighth season with the Eagles in 2026, and this new deal will see him reach a remarkable ten consecutive seasons with the club by the end of 2028.

Despite missing a significant portion of this season through injury, Farrell returned for the final two matches in the Betfred Championship, helping the Eagles secure wins against Hunslet and Barrow Raiders, while also taking on the kicking duties in those games.

Since joining the club back in 2019, the 31-year-old has made a total of 131 appearances and has scored 43 tries for the club, and it’s a tally he’ll be looking to add to over the course of the next three seasons.
