Joel Farrell extends Eagles contract till 2025
26/10/2023
Sheffield Eagles forward Joel Farrell has signed a one-year extension to his current contract, ensuring he’ll be staying at the Olympic Legacy Park until the end of 2025.
Farrell signed from Batley Bulldogs in 2019 and was a try-scorer in the 1895 Cup triumph against Widnes during that season.
Now approaching 100 appearances in Red and Gold (currently on 92), Farrell’s no-nonsense style of play will remain as he continues to become a leader in the pack.
Director of Rugby Mark Aston said of Farrell: “You know what you’re going to get from Joel,”
“He wears his heart on his sleeve and we never want that to change.
“He has been a big part of the pack since coming to the club and he has a big part to play for Sheffield Eagles going forward.
“Joel has also had to play at hooker during 2023 and we’re happy with his contribution from that spot.
“We know his preferred position is in the second-row and we’ll see more of him in that spot next year.
