Izaac Farrell ruled out for rest of 2022

Sheffield Eagles stand-off Izaac Farrell has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2022 season with an ACL injury. 

It’s a bitter blow for Farrell, who was in contention to line up alongside his brother Joel for Jamaica at the upcoming Rugby League World Cup. 

Regarding the injury, Director of Rugby Mark Aston said: “It’s cruel to see Izaac’s season end this way,” 

“After coming to the club in 2020, his game has come on leaps and bounds while playing alongside Anthony Thackeray as well as Joel too. 

“He was aiming for a strong end to the season ahead of the World Cup campaign and it’s a crying shame that now won’t happen for him. 

“He will come back better despite this setback, there is no doubt about that. He is a Farrell after all! 

“We all wish him the best with his recovery and look forward to seeing him back out on the pitch soon.”
