EAGLES WHEELCHAIR PREPARING FOR BULLISH FIRST LEAGUE HOME GAME
18/03/2022
Sheffield Eagles Wheelchair Rugby League team are looking to bounce back from their 74-6 defeat away at North Wales Crusaders A when they host Bradford Bulls this weekend in their first home fixture of the Championship North season.
The Bulls, who were victorious 58-28 over Dundee Dragons in their first game, will face the Eagles at Forge Valley Sports Centre, 2pm Kick Off on Saturday 19th March.
Andrea Dobson will take charge of the home side, with Head Coach Greg Brown unavailable for the match, and has a full roster of 10 players available for the all Yorkshire clash.
Emma Pearson, Jenny Pearson and Jack Johnson come into the squad in addition to the seven players who faced North Wales Crusaders to make their competitive debuts, whilst Will Brooks will be hoping to crown last week’s player of the match performance by adding his name to the scoreboard, which he came so close to doing last week.
“We’ve got a full roster which shows the strength of the club’s playing numbers, but will give me a headache in managing selection and interchanges on the day!” quipped Andrea Dobson. “The team is very much looking forward to welcoming Bradford to Sheffield on Saturday and getting stuck in to another game. We’ll be looking for an improvement on last weekend’s away game and the players were very positive at training this week. Every milestone this new team makes is enjoyable and a remarkable story and our first competitive home game this weekend is another milestone to celebrate!”
Spectators are welcome at the game, but are advised that space is limited.
Sheffield Eagles: Vicky Brooks, Will Brooks, Lottie Davis-Browne, Christopher Haynes, Jack Johnson, Shaun Orton, Stephen Palin-Campbell, Emma Pearson, Jenny Pearson and Stacey Roulson.
