Eagles taken down in Toulouse heat

Sheffield Eagles will come back from France empty-handed after a 48-10 defeat at State Ernest Wallon.

The Eagles tries came courtesy of Jesse Sene-Lefao and Bayley Liu in the first and second half respectively.

Toulouse ended the game with 12 men as Sitaleki Akauola was sent off after Liam Kirk was stretchered off. Liam is up and walking after the incident.

Sene-Lefao opened the scoring after three minutes, with Cory Aston converting, but Toulouse hit back soon after courtesy of Lambert Belmas.

Maxime Stefani, Greg Richards and Guy Armitage all helped themselves to four-pointers as Olympique led by three scores at the interval.

Armitage, Richards and Stefani would score again in the second half as they completed their respective braces.

Josh Ralph and Mathieu Jussaume were the other Olympique try-scorers.

Liu’s try came 12 minutes from time to give the Eagles fans something to cheer.
