Eagles release third kit ahead of Summer Bash

30/06/2022

Sheffield Eagles will wear a newly released third kit for their Summer Bash fixture against London Broncos at Headingley.

A nod to past kits of pre and post-merger, the Eagles will go from their regular Red and Gold strip and become the Green Army!

Vila Halafihi is pictured in the kit alongside LDRL players Hayden Holding and Shaun Barker and Eagles Women’s Tori Thomas. Shaun also plays for the Eagles Wheelchair team.

The first green Eagles kit was in 1994/1995, sponsored by Heineken, and the second featured in the historic 2013 season as the club became the first Championship team to win back-to-back Grand Finals.

Discussing the new kit, which will be auctioned off at the end of the year, Commercial Director Mark Hannigan said: “The last time we had a green kit was 2013, in the second of the back-to-back Grand Final winning years so we are well overdue one!”

“Being 10 years since the first of the Championship wins, it is right and fitting we acknowledge the back-to-back achievement.

“We love to look back on our history too and with it being almost 30 years since our first green strip, it’s a good time to release this.

“The kit will be worn against London at the Summer Bash and in a number of games both at the OLP and away from home before the end of the season.

“We will shortly announce details of how you can get your hands on one of these limited edition shirts.

“There will only be 30 of them in existence!”

Tickets for the Summer Bash can be purchased from eagles.mysportstickets.co.uk as well as transport from the OLP.

A day ticket and transport to Headingley is £25 for Adults and £20 for Juniors. The coach will set off from the OLP at 10:30am and return to Sheffield after the last game on Saturday.
