Eagles quartet earn England Wheelchair National Performance Squad Call-Up
12/03/2026
Sheffield Eagles are proud to see four of our Wheelchair stars selected in the 2026 England Wheelchair National Performance Squad.
Stephen Reilly, Joe Wink-Simmonds, Luis Domingos and Chris Haynes have all been named in Head Coach Tom Coyd MBE’s 16-player squad as preparations begin for a crucial Rugby League World Cup year.
Reilly and Wink-Simmonds earn their first call-ups to the national performance group following impressive campaigns with the Eagles. The pair were part of the Sheffield side that made its debut in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League in 2025 and now take the next step in their development with the National Performance Squad for England.
Domingos and Haynes also return to the national set-up. Domingos enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2025, making his England debut during the Ashes tour victory in Australia, while Haynes continues his involvement with the programme after first linking up with the squad in 2024.
The quartet are among a 16-player group that will come together this weekend for the first England camp of the year at the University of Nottingham, as preparations begin ahead of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup.
Everyone at Sheffield Eagles would like to congratulate Stephen, Joe, Luis and Chris on their selection and wish them the very best as they represent both club and country on the international stage.
